This demo pretends to show the potential to access the camera using the Camera API.
It is an application which helps maintaining a price history for the products you usually consume.
The use is simple, click on the camera icon to take a photo of the product code bar. You can also more easily write the code in the input text just to the right. I’ve left some test codes already filled: 1111111111116, 1111111111123 y 1111111111130.
If it’s the first time you add the product, you should enter its name. You can also click on the space reserved to the photo and the camera will be activated to take a photo, and finally you should complete the date of purchase and the price.
If the product has already been created, a graphic will be displayed with the evolution of prices, where you could add how much did it cost this time, and you can change the photo or title/name of the product.
There are some limitations anyway; the scanning script, developed by Tobias Schneider, is quite small so it does not include all the functions of the professional code bar scanners, as for example: recognizing rotated codes, cutting the image to only leave the bar code or adjusting the black and white levels, and ignoring shadows and shines to distinguish with more reliability the bars from the gaps.
For this reason, if you are not able to get any code recognized, you could download these images (1), (2), (3), (4) and (5) use them instead of taking photos with the camera.

Esta demo pretende mostrar el potencial del acceso a la cámara de fotos usando el Camera API.
Se trata de una app que ayuda a mantener un histórico de precios de los productos que habitualmente consumes.
Su uso es simple, haz clic en el icono de la cámara para poder tomar una foto al código de barras del producto, o si te resulta más sencillo puedes escribir el código en el input text que se encuentra justo a la derecha. He dejado algunos códigos de prueba con productos ya rellenos: 1111111111116, 1111111111123y 1111111111130.
Si el producto es la primera vez que lo añades deberás introducir su nombre, si haces clic en el espacio reservado para la foto activará la cámara para que lo fotografíes y finalmente deberías completar la fecha de compra y lo que te ha costado.
Si por el contrario ya tenías ese producto te mostrará una gráfica con la evolución de precios, podrás añadir lo que te ha costado esta vez y si lo deseas puedes modificar la foto o el título/nombre del producto
Limitaciones: el script de escaneo fue desarrollado por Tobias Schneider es increiblemente pequeño por lo que no tiene todas las funcionalidades que tienen los lectores de code bar profesionales, como reconocer códigos que están rotados, recortar de la imágen lo que no es código de barras o ajustar los niveles de blanco y negros, ignorar sombras y brillos para distinguir con mayor fiabilidad las barras de los gaps.
Por esta razón si no consigues que reconozca ningún código puedes descargarte estas imágenes (1), (2), (3), (4) y (5) y utilizarlas en lugar de hacer fotos con la cámara.
